The Domain Name Rush Is Over

Two or three years ago, the internet was exploding at a fantastic rate. New companies were getting hundreds of millions of dollars of financing for even the most silly, harebrained schemes. To many it seemed like an entirely new frontier which everyone was taking advantage of, and to be left out was unthinkable. Any company that didn't have an internet presence would quickly find itself dead and buried.

During those heady times, it sometimes seemed like "all of the good domain names were taken". This statement was repeated so often that many people even believed it was true (it was and still is, of course, totally false).
